Can I choose specific music to be played?
I love to discover new music, so very happy to discuss specific requests. It will depend on things like availability of sheet music and suitability for harp adaptation (piano music can be a good start).
How far in advance should I book?
I recommend booking as early as possible, particularly for weddings and popular dates during the spring and summer months. However, last-minute bookings may also be possible depending on availability, so please don’t hesitate to enquire.
What do I need to provide on the day of the event?
I bring my own harp and the equipment needed for my performance. I will need sufficient space to set up, with enough room for the harp, chair and a music stand (roughly 1.2 x 1.7m min). It will also be useful to have somewhere to stash the travel cover and harp trolley.
Do I need to provide amplification or power supply?
Nope. Although the harp is not a loud instrument, it is not usually necessary to be amplified - the harp provides a beautiful background ambience while your guests eat, drink, mingle and take photos.
Can I have a go?!
Sure! I'm happy to supervise a quick "introduction to the harp" moment for guests of honour 😊
Can the harp be played outside?
The harp is sensitive to things like direct sunlight, temperature, humidity etc, but it might be possible depending on accessibility, duration, whether there is cover, seasons, weather etc. Happy to discuss!
Can you move between different parts of a venue?
It will depend on accessibility and distance. A few metres on a flat surface between room A and room B is usually fine, but much further requires re-packing and re-loading the harp onto its trolley either end, which could take several minutes so we would need to plan in transfer time and an appropriate route.
